Roderick George Toombs

Roderick George Toombs was born on April 17, 1954 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

As a teenager he left home to live on his own, staying at youth hostels, and debuting as wrestler when he was 15 years old.

In the mid-80s (Piper had been wrestling for over a decade already), a huge milestone was set, that changed the (Wrestling) World forever - WRESTLEMANIA. Which has remained one of the most exciting wrestling events to this day.

He vanished from the wresting scene to shoot a couple of movies, the most famous of which to this date is "They Live".

Not for long, though, and "Hot Rod" was back in the ring, fighting his opponents in the usual manner. Even a hip replacement in 1995 could not stop the "Rowdy Scot" to return to the WCW and take on his old arch rival Hulk Hogan some more.

In April 2005, Roddy Piper was accepted in the WWE Hall of Fame, among his fellow wrestling legends Hulk Hogan, The Iron Sheik, Paul Orndorff, Jimmy Hart, Cowboy Bob Orton and Nikolai Volkoff.

Recently, Roddy Piper appeared in the Canadian-made movie Clear Lake, and hosts a weekly podcast called The Rod Pod".
